Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Durham County

Senior Corps RSVP logo The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Durham County (RSVP) is a National Service Senior Corps project providing personalized volunteer placement and support to meet vital community needs. RSVP has been sponsored by Durham Tech for over 40 years. Volunteering offers the opportunity to meet new people, gain knowledge, stay active and engaged, and know you are making a difference for your community. RSVP volunteers serve with nonprofit and public agencies to help meet critical community needs.

As a National Service organization, RSVP provides volunteer insurance during volunteer duties, as well as transportation reimbursement for travel to and from the volunteer site.

Make a difference in Durham! Contact RSVP at 919-536-7270. You can also email rsvp@durhamtech.edu to find out about additional opportunities.

RSVP volunteers choose how and where they want to serve. Volunteers provide hundreds of community services, such as the following:

  • Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) – RSVP’s VITA Program (recruiting now for the 2019, see video below!)
  • Campus Harvest Food Pantry – Durham Tech
  • Home Meal Delivery – Meals On Wheels
